The Davines Difference: Why We Partner with This Brand
Every product on our shelves is there because we chose it on purpose.
When we were deciding what to put our name behind, we didn’t start with a catalog. We started with a question: What would a product line have to stand for to belong in our salon? It had to perform, every time, in the chair and at home. And it had to be made by a company that thinks the way we do, about our guests, about the planet, and about building something that lasts.
That question led us to Davines. It’s still the reason we’re here.
We’re Building for the Long Haul
As a small business, we think about sustainability differently than you might expect. Yes, it means caring for the planet. But it also means building a salon that lasts and relationships that grow stronger every year.
We’re not here to sell you something today. We’re here so that, years from now, you can say you’ve had the best hair of your life, and that it kept getting better.
That kind of long-term thinking is rare. It’s also exactly what we found in Davines.

What Davines Stands For
Davines has been a family-owned company since it was founded in Parma, Italy, in 1983. It’s a certified B Corp, which means its social and environmental practices are independently held to an extremely high standard. It’s also legally structured as a Benefit Corporation, so it’s built to operate for the common good, not just for profit.
Davines is also putting that commitment into the products themselves. Its newly evolved Essential Haircare line uses active ingredients sourced from Regenerative Organic Certified™ farms. Those are farms that give back to the soil instead of just taking from it.
This year, after more than 20 years, Davines changed its tagline from “Sustainable Beauty” to “For a Good Life.” Sustainability is still at the center. But the new line says something bigger: that a good life means caring for people and the planet together.
That’s a philosophy we can stand behind, because it’s how we already try to run our salon.
There’s one more idea in Davines’ philosophy that we love. Davines believes stylists should create hair for a person, not just on a person. If you’ve ever sat through a consultation with us, you know why that hits home. It’s the whole reason we start every appointment with questions instead of assumptions.
Results Come First
Values matter. But if a product doesn’t work, nothing else about it matters.
Davines earns its spot on our shelves because we see what it does, day after day, on real hair. That includes freshly lightened blondes, fine hair that needs lift, and dry ends that need serious moisture. The Essential Haircare line is built around the condition your hair is in right now, not just your hair type. And the shampoos and conditioners are designed to work together as a system.
That’s how we use it, too. MOMO for hair that’s always thirsty. OI for hair that’s been through a lot and needs nourishment and shine. And the Circle treatments for whatever your hair is asking for this week. Your stylist matches the product to your hair, not the other way around.

“Why Not Just Grab Something at the Store?”
It’s a fair question, and we hear it a lot.
The honest answer is that the product is only half of it. The other half is knowing which product, for your hair, right now. We’ve watched your hair behave. We know how it reacts to humidity, where it gets dry, and what your color needs to stay bright between appointments. A shelf can’t tell you that.
When you buy Davines from us, you’re getting the recommendation that comes with it. And if something isn’t working, you can tell us at your next appointment and we’ll adjust.
Sustainability Doesn’t Happen by Accident
None of this is accidental. Choosing Davines was a decision about results and about what’s good for the earth and for our guests. Those two things don’t compete. And in our experience, the brands that care about one usually care about the other.
That’s the standard we hold ourselves to as well. We make intentional choices, we’re honest about why we make them, and we think about the long term instead of the quick sale.

What This Means When You Visit Our Davines Salon in Milwaukee
When you come into Tailored, you’ll see Davines throughout the salon. It’s at the shampoo bowl, at the styling station, and on the shelves near the front.
But you’ll never feel pressured to buy it. Here’s what you can expect instead:
Your stylist will tell you what they’re using and why.
If a product could help your hair at home, we’ll recommend it, and explain exactly how to use it.
If what you already have is working, we’ll tell you that too.
That’s the Davines difference for us. Great products, from a company with real values, recommended by people who know your hair.
